13th February, 2020

As announced, Cairns Central has embarked on a $60 million redevelopment of the Centre. These works will enable us to continue to deliver on our vision to give customers exceptional shopping experiences that reflect Cairns’ vibrant and diverse community.

Cairns Central’s redevelopment has reached an exciting milestone with construction works to include the complete refurbishment of Myer to the ground floor, which includes Myer’s latest concept store, complete with new premium brands.

To facilitate these works and ensure we continue to provide customers with a safe, enjoyable shopping environment, hoardings will be installed along a section of both the ground floor and level one of the existing Myer at the southern end of the Centre, to enable fit out works to be carried out.

Minimising disruption to our customers is a top priority throughout redevelopment works. These works will include the following temporary measures during the period:

Myer entry:

  • Main entrance to Myer will temporarily be relocated to the ground floor site next to 1300 Smiles (previously Adairs).
  • No access will be available via the existing Myer entrance on the ground and level one floors from the Centre.
  • The existing Myer entrance on McLeod Street entrance will remain open.
  • Myer will trade only from the ground level as preparations for the new Woolworths store on level one commence.

Along with new brands opening, a number of stores have moved to temporary sites within the Centre so they can continue to trade during construction works of their new stores, whilst others have relocated to new sites, taking the opportunity to introduce their latest concept fit-outs to Cairns Central.

Please see below for a list of store movements:

Temporary relocations:

  • Myer, Children’s wear moved to the ground floor, centre court next to the Body Shop
  • Myer, Homewares will move to level one next to Coast Roast
  • All Sorts of Sweets will move to the ground floor next to Sportscraft to allow for the fit out of their permanent site opposite Rebel in March

Permanent relocations:

  • Pandora has moved to the ground floor next to Witchery
  • Coast Roast has moved to level one centre court
  • Honey Birdette has moved to the ground floor next to Forever New
  • Bed, Bath & Table has moved to level one next to Ally Fashion
  • Valleygirl has moved to level one next to Famous Footwear
  • Adairs will reopen towards the end of May in a new location
  • R.M. Williams will move to a new concept store on the ground floor next to Bright Eyes from March

Our website and in-centre digital directories have been updated to reflect the above changes. If you require further assistance, please contact our Customer Service team on ph 07 4041 4111.
