Editorial 3 key looks for winter

1) Block it out!
Colour blocking is big this season, so don’t be afraid to don that all-millennial pink outfit and rock it! Keep it super trendy by layering different textures and patterns, all in the same colour range. Key colours to watch out for this season are bright, fiery reds, emerald greens and bright pinks and oranges.
Not ready for an all-orange ensemble? Add subtle pops of colour with bright make-up and accessories, a fire-red heel looks fabulous with a classic LBD.
2) Live the luxe life
Velvet is having a moment, so you’ve likely seen it everywhere and on everything, from lounges to sock boots. This luxe fabric is sure to glam up any outfit and is appropriate for any occasion, so keep an eye out for velvet dresses, tops, skirts and accessories. If you’re heading out in wet weather, be warned, a velvet sock boot may look gorgeous but won’t hold up in the rain!
For those days, it’s time to pull out the leather boots and rug up in fur (faux of course). Faux fur has made a come back in a big way, moving away from the tacky faux fur trims seen on early 2000s fashion, to the high-end jackets and coats of today, adding a touch of luxury and a whole lot of warmth to any outfit. Too warm for a fur coat? Primp your purse with a faux fur pom-pom key ring!
3) Shine on
Metallics aren’t just for the festival season! Keep the party going by adding touches of metal to your everyday wardrobe with a delicate necklace or earrings. Want to keep your summer skin? Bring a little glow to your make-up this winter with a warm-toned highlighter or duo-chrome lip topper. Fancy something a little bolder? Go for a metallic lipstick with a dark, shimmery cat eye – the perfect look for a night out!
