AW21 Beauty Trends

For those of us that have enjoyed a somewhat minimalist approach to our daily beauty routines of late (read: no need for make-up if I’m not leaving the house), the good news is that taking a clean, simple and natural approach to beauty – or as Harpers Bazaar describes it, “quintessential Parisian nonchalance” - is the order of the day for the Autumn Winter 21 season.

‘Simple’ shouldn’t by any means be interpreted as ‘plain’ – far from it. The idea is to create a sense of relaxed glamour through softly made faces – elegantly groomed brows, Bridgerton-inspired pink blush, bare lip balm and casually-pinned hair – accented with black eyeliner with smokey eyes, or vivid blue and turquoise for a little extra spright. For lips, keep the natural look going with a pale lip balm, or let the world know you mean business with a bold red or burgundy.

Think of make-up as an extension of your fashion accessories – an inspired, elegant dash of colour is all it takes to elevate a look relaxed to ready to play.

Taking a cue from clothing trends, earthy tones and a nature-conscious philosophy are a major aspect of the beauty collections this year, with hero stores like Myer, The Body Shop and Priceline all stocking inspired new ranges that are ethically and locally made, natural and often vegan-friendly.

Trends aside, all the usual mandatories for winter beauty and skincare still hold true. Indoor heating and air conditioning can be just as drying to skin as summer weather, so keep a high-quality moisturiser on hand, try Ella Bache, Laser Clinics Australia or Silk Laser Clinics for your Autumn Winter skincare must haves.
